All landlords, at some point, will have to deal with late rent from tenants. If it has not happened, it will come soon. Many of the reasons for late rent are legitimate reasons. For most landlords, honesty goes a long way, and the landlord can devise a plan to help the tenant stay in the unit. I have done that with legitimately struggling tenants and have otherwise been good with their payments and property upkeep. Then there are those renters who, for whatever reason, do not have the rent and, when asked, offer lame excuses. If you have a doozy of a renter excuse, please share it with us.
